Jesus Healed through My Imagination

Is Jesus the Lord of your money? Is Jesus the Lord of your time? Is Jesus the Lord of your imagination? He can do amazing things when we give Him everything we have, that that includes our mind, our imagination and our emotions. An Assembly of God pastor once told me about the idea of “start your imagination and let Jesus finish it.” Here’s the story of how I used that idea and then Jesus healed my body through my imagination.

It’s November 2023 and I had been battling on various fronts: life changes, lingering grief, obligations at work, obligations at church and a variety of other problems. Nothing of itself was particularly challenging but the combined weight was significant.

The time came to board the plane and as I am sitting on the plane I can feel the stress start to bubble up in my stomach. I am normally a good flier, but any travel brings stress and the additional weight on top of my elevated baseline was starting to overload me. I was not interested in flying in this frazzled emotional state for a couple hours.

I think to myself:

Lord I’m here doing the things I believe you want me to do. But it’s not easy. You have to heal me.

The row I am on has two seats; I am on the left and the seat to the right is open. I close my eyes and place both arms on the arm rests. I then imagine Jesus is sitting in the chair next to me holding my hand. Just as the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus and she was healed, I imagined that Jesus holding my hand would heal me. I could then feel this calmness start in my right hand and slowly move up my right arm which propagated through the rest of my body upon which I was completely and totally relaxed and healed. Praise Jesus!

Coming into land we hit some chop and I started to get the beginnings of air sickness. Having already been healed only a couple hours prior, I decided to go for it again. My faith was on fire! So why not try it again? I then imaging Jesus putting His hand on my stomach and the air sickness went away, although we were still in turbulence. Praise Jesus again!

My prayer for you:

Lord I give you my imagination! Speak to me in a vision, speak to me in a mental picture, speak to me in a dream. I’m open to receive and I ask that you will meet me there and communicate with me in new, fun and imaginative ways. Thank you Lord!
